HOW THE BOARD OF ADVISORS WORKS

Community leaders in Wake County and the Research Triangle region share knowledge and experience while connecting with other business executives. The Board of Advisors meets with the Board of Directors four times a year to stay abreast and offer input on current business and community issues—including economic development, public policy, transportation, and education.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE

Companies that make a membership investment of $2,500 or more annually may designate one representative to serve on the Chamber’s Board of Advisors.

WHO PARTICIPATES

More than 350 companies are represented on the Board of Advisors.

EVENTS

• Four Board of Advisors meetings each year in conjunction with the Chamber’s Board of Directors
• Biannual new Board of Advisors member orientations with a substantive review of business and community issues from Chamber President Harvey Schmitt and Board Chair Gary Joyner of Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP
• Special speaker events scheduled throughout the year to further inform Board of Advisors members on current business and community issues. Past events have featured NC Community Colleges President Scott Ralls, NC Department of Transportation Rail Division Director Patrick Simmons, and Alves Educational Consultants Group President Michael Alves.
