The Greater Raleigh Chamber's Government Affairs Department is responsible for developing and/or improving the product we sell - Raleigh and Wake County.
To effectively compete with other communities, Wake County needs to have a strong infrastructure in place. It is also important that we preserve and enhance our quality of life. To achieve these goals, the Governmental Affairs Department identifies, develops, and advocates the adoption of a Legislative Agenda in addition to local community development plans. Primary areas of focus are transportation, public education, and quality, well-planned growth. The department is also active in matters related to the arts, the environment, as well as state and local governance.
Maintaining this quality of life is a shared responsibility and requires the cooperation of our state legislature and local governing bodies. It is the Chamber's responsibility to advise and encourage government involvement in areas that will enhance our community's ability to remain competitive. One of the initiatives that the Chamber recently championed was the Blue Ribbon Committee on the Future of Wake County.
We encourage you to look around our site for information on local and state issues and to learn how you can get involved. Please contact Drew Moretz, Vice President of Government Affairs, with any questions or suggestions.
