Phil Freelon Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity Award Nomination

The Phil Freelon Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity Award is given to an individual in the regional business community who has demonstrated an emerging or sustained commitment to champion change.
The nomination period for the Phil Freelon Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity Award has closed.

The Conference is facilitated by the Triangle Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity Alliance, powered by the Raleigh Chamber.   

TThe Phil Freelon Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity Award is given to an individual in the regional business community who has demonstrated an emerging or sustained commitment to champion change and positive impact in diversity, equity, and inclusivity. Freelon left an indelible mark on the practice of architecture and his legacy transcends the brick and mortar of the buildings he designed. Freelon was a pioneer, a fierce advocate of diversity, equity, and inclusivity, and his influence will only strengthen over time as we continue to see the positive impact that businesses can have in the community. 
 
Phil Freelon Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity Award
Criteria for Nomination
  • Individuals with the primary job of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusivity (DEI) within their organization who have shown leadership, commitment, and motivation to drive the DEI agenda throughout the organization and the greater community. 
  • Leaders who have promoted initiatives, resources and/or community involvement in advancing DEI in the region.
  • An outstanding individual, ally or advocate who is making a difference in advancing DEI in the business community.
  • An individual who serves on a DEI related board(s) and uses their position to help drive DEI initiatives within the organization. 
  • An individual who has devoted a major portion of their professional life to enhancing the practice of DEI, making significant, innovative, and cumulatively outstanding contributions to the cause.
